Excellent idea, it's very interesting how do you put the renders as if it were some macro shots of a real flag ^_^

Thanks! I create a polygon the size of the flag, Then i subdevide that poly many times, create the distortions/waves just by manipulating the polygons, and then i add subpatch or mesh smooth (equivalent) if you are using 3dsmax to smooth it out. I Apply a UV map. The texture is of a cloth type, kinda like a shirt thats been painted over with thick paint, dunno if you have ever seen that but i always was amused by that kind of printed shirt texture. I set the light to Area light, which is the most realistic light in Lightwave 3D. I bring the camera in close but not too close, i use more zoom on the camera, and then i add "Depth of Field" donno which program u use but i assume they should all call it DOF or depth of field. I set the distance for the Depth of field to be enough so that it has the center focused, and i bring the aperture very low.

Yeah I've seen that printed shirts everywhere in Spain, they've a cool texture :)
the DOF technnique can be used from 3D max with no problem, and even with Photoshop you can
mmmhh, good technnique... I'll study some variations, thanks again! ^_^
